If anyone else painted their Ric basses like that. People here would want to hang them! But, to each their own. Ronn's bass looks pretty good, but Macca's bass paint job was...well you can tell he was high when he did it. Kinda sloppily done IMHO. He was right to sand it all off. His bass though, so his choice too.
I recently went back to playing a Rickenbacker bass. Its like meeting an old friend again
Where is "here" Randy? I ask because I've been thinking of painting one of my basses like that. Since I don't quite fancy being hanged i thought I should check with you.

So, who actually in the United States can customize a bass like the MMT bass? Japan seems like a long way to go. Not to mention that WITH doesn't seem to understand what I want to do. Obviously a language barrier. They do some pretty cool things though. Some scary stuff too! Anyway, if anyone has a thought...

Brian,
I've just heard some not so great things on this forum about that paint job in particular. I've also seen others that were well done too. Ronn's bass looks great for instance. But Macca's bass paint job was very poorly done IMHO. I think he thought better of it after a while and decided to strip it off. If you are thinking of painting your bass in that style,I think it can be done a lot better than Paul did his. But that's just me being me. It's your bass and your decision.
