Yeah, I love it too

. I love the tone he gets on 'Drive My Car' especially. That's why I'm trying to figure out exactly what it is, because I think it's an ES-335, but I emailed someone on his website, so maybe I'll get an answer. I'll let you know if I do.
He actually has two that are the same color. He used to play one with trapezoid fret markers, while this latest one obviously has dot markers. This picture is from the Live in Red Square DVD, by the way.

Stuart,
That appears to be a vintage ES-335 that the young fellow is playing, given the long pickguard. Anyone notice how SMALL that big 335 looks on that fellow? He must be 6'4..

Thanks Larry. I have been looking at Gibson's website for a while, and the closest color I could find to that guitar is 'light burst' but they wont let you view the different colors like you can on Epiphone's website (if you were, say, looking at the Elitist Casino)... so I thought maybe that's a new 335 with the 'light burst' color scheme.
And yes, Rusty is pretty tall... He's got to be at least 6'2", but more likely 6'3" or 4 as you mentioned.
Thanks again.

Looks like a 335 to me as well. Since Macca is 5'11", it's easy to see how tall Larry is.

I've seen Rusty play locally a couple times(L.A.) when he's off his regular job (in Paul's band) I've also seen him with Paul. He's an awesome guitarist (his band does a version of Hendrix's Spanish Castle Magic amazingly well). I also gave him a copy of my band's CD (He must've played for Paul by now, doncha think?

) I'm a big fan of his.

I met Rusty Anderson last summer at the IPO and when we shook hands it was actually almost scary! He has HUGE hands. VERY very big!
He is tall too. Super nice guy though.

I've had to revise this post.I originally posted that McCartney wasn't 5'11" but the info posted on the web seems to indicate that he is although I have my doubts.

OK, well early Beatle stats list John Paul and George as 5'11", but I suspect that was in their Beatle Boots. I met George at a shopping mall, and he seemed quite a bit shorter than me (6'1"), and seeing Paul play in '02, he in the middle between Rusty and the other guitarist, well, looked sort of small.

I was surprised when I read on the web that J,P & G were all 5'11". I've seen Macca a couple of times and he didn't strike me as being that tall. The other thing that makes me doubt this height is that the Hofner bass is a very petite thing and it fits Macca just right. I think on a bloke that was 5'11", the Hofner would seem like a toy. Same applies to John and the 325.
Finally, when I was a kid, I saw their wax effigies at Madame Tussauds in London and, bearing in mind that these are supposed to be life size, I was surprised at how small they seemed. Let's face it, even today, 5'11" is taller than average!

There is no way Paul is 5'11". Look at this picture. Hell, the Hofner is almost as tall as he is.

For comparison? I'm 6'2"

I'd say 5'9" based on experience and the Boots!

I was going to say 5'10" tops. Look how his right arm is almost fully extended compared to Ronn's.

Thanks for the follow-ups guys, I was really beginning to believe that I was wrong and that the Fabs were all giants!
