Agreed the Floyd was great. I also wish McCartney would use his 4001 but he always has that Hofner...Is that his original one or is it a later edition?
Michael Stipe of REM looked typically ridiculous with the stripe around his head.
And who else noticed that the Live 8 logo had a Fender headstock?

How can you have bands like the Who, Paul McCartney, and Pink Floyd.... and then have snoop dogg? I mean blah. Thats just horrible.

CTV in canada cut the floyd set after money to show the "tragically hip" play... not like they havn't played every year for the last 20 years... don't want to miss them.

Serious... I almost threw something at the TV. Then they said that they would be playing everything you missed later that night. They played Floyd again in the reruns... but only money... again. This time I threw something at the TV.

p.s. my fireglo ric is the greatest bass ever made. I noticed Adam Clayton (???) the U2 bassist used ashdown on stage.

I'm pretty sure that's the same P-bass Roger's been using since DSOTM (1973). At that time it was black with a white pickguard, but at one point in the mid-Seventies, he and Dave (With a matching Strat) added black pickguards, to match, I suppose.

Could be. I'm not sure.

Thanks for crediting me Rath. Hehe good joke.

Well dave did use his 70's strat at the show, instead of is '57 reissue. That red one I believe.

it was nice to see that many of the guitarists played through Vox AC30 on the UK stage

I don’t mind admitting that towards the end of Comfortably Numb I had a tear in my eye. So good to see the dream team back together.

Also not surprised to see many of the UK bass players use Ashdown and many of the US players use Ampeg… no change there then!

I just thought of something. They should've had a Spinal Tap reunion for Live 8.
