I posted a question............."Hi - is it possible to view the bass. I'm in south London, where are you?
Regards,
Graham"

..............I'll let you know the response, to see if it's genuine.

He says he is out at Hackney Graham. Put on your wellies...

Actually I thought there was a piece on this bass a while back on the main site.

If it's real and still around Friday, I think I'm going to have a go at it.

He claims you can go by and see it.

Steve as far as Fedex, they won't pack but, having them pick it up can prevent heavy "handling" charges.

It had a starting bid of 3500 pounds but no BIN. He probably saw the 4005 WB for sale at 6500 pounds and thought he can ask the same.

I think this bass is far more interesting than the M/G. The F hole makes it totally different and your unlikely to see another, let alone one for sale for a very long time.

If you could buy it close to the asking price it's not such a bad deal considering what people are asking and paying for lately imo. The high starting price auctions in the UK don't usually get a lot of atttention. It's an instrument that will not have wide ranging appeal and unless members from this forum get involved, will probably receive no bids.

I'm 99.9 percent sure I will be bidding. The seller seems like a good guy. He sent me pics of the case, nice and tattered.

I recently laid out a nice chunk of change for moving expenses that I'm hoping will be reimbursed on Friday. If so she's mine unless the BIN is hit before then, which I consider unlikely.

Of course if Chris Pappas went for it, I couldn't blame him. In my home it'd be lonely. In his home, it'd have friends;>)

In order to raise money to bid on this I am going to see how much I can sell my soul (and maybe body for) on the bay!!!

Image I had a pile of cash burnin' a hole in my pocket 6mths ago and was really looking for a 4005 and now it's all gone 2 come up for sale in the UK Image Guess I'll just have to wait for that fat publishing/record deal!
Tell me does it feel the same when you've set upon a change but your heart's in the old times?

Marc - remember that shipping is about $180, plus duty!

Man, if you bid on that bass, and he is willing to take an offer if it does not sell(oh, how nice of him!)I believe the bar will be raised on ALL 4005's.

I hope nobody bids on it.

Mike, I though I have to pay duties on items made outside of the US and that the bass is US made. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

If I did pay duties, what is the amount on say $7500?
