They said they will probably do a re-finish. Does that mean. .the whole guitar?

A re-finish won't help anything if the crack is deeper than the finish. What we'll do is sand down to the wood and seal the crack up. Then, we will touch it up with lacquer and buff it out.

A good answer...
I've always wondered what "better than new" meant, unless "new"="******" which in the case of Rickenbackers, is unheard of.

I'll post when I have your guitar in my hands. We'll take good care of it.

Let me make something clear everyone. . .Paul.
What I meant by " Better than New" should easily be understood. I was making reference to the crack in the guitar that was present when I first did my initial overlook of the guitar. I only meant something along the lines of . . .
. . will my guitar look better when I recieve after it's service. . .will the area of concern be totally fixed, will I ever be able to tell it had that fault? . . .
This is my first time returning a guitar for service, and my last time mentioning " Better than New"
Ben! Your going to have access to my guitar? How sweet. Feel free to pick a little number to refresh her bones after such a long journey. Definitely let me know when you have it in your hands
Sorry for the . . wrong choice of words, I'm glad it's a little more understood.

After a cross country journey. . .
Nanakitty (my Rick) has been delivered to Rickenbacker!
Hopefully she's safe and sound!

Ben-
If you really want to go as far as to paint it pink. . .that is totally ok with me. I wouldn't mind a totally rad and original Rick! But seriously, haha, sure if you wanna experiment with the colors, be my guest.
Lemme know when you know anything!

I posted that right after it arrived at the shop. Looks like we'll do exactly what I said in my first post.

Fixed the crack and ready to buff when lo and behold, the other side of the neck developed the same type of crack!
Looks like it'll be a little longer but we'll make it like new.
