I know the classical lick before Bungalow Bill is a toughie, Peter. But then all of the guitar parts Ringo played were hard.

I heard somewhere that Ringo was actually the best guitarist in the group, but they only used him for tricky stuff like the intro to 'Bungalow Bill' or the lead bits on 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps'...

This offers me some insight as to why I could never get Helter Skelter to sound right on my nylon-string...

I had alway thought that Clapton played lead on While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Ringo! Jeez I would have never given him that much credit.

Sorry Ringo! If it is true, I am now a big fan. Can you ever forgive me for all those things I have said about your singing?

Here is a silly little game played by people who want to see the connection of other artists and bands to Clapton. The orginal post referred to Clapton as God. I found that distasteful so I changed God to Clapton for this post. That was my only edit.

Any way It definitely refers to Clapton playing on While my Guitar Gently Weeps.

Abba: Tom Dowd started out as an engineer on a couple of Cream albums. He went on to produce for Abba and Clapton. Abba is 2 degrees removed from Clapton.

AC/DC: Former Manfred Mann's Earthband drummer, Chris Slade joined the band in 1989 to replace Simon Wright. Jack Bruce was in Manfred Mann before he joined Cream. AC/DC is 3 degrees removed from Clapton.

Ace: Poco's Rusty Young plays steel guitar on Ace's second album. Poco had a couple of albums produced by Steve Cropper. Cropper was in Booker T and the MG's with Duck Dunn, who played in Clapton's band for a couple of tours. Ace is 4 degrees removed from Clapton.

Adam & the Ants: Bass player Gary Tibbs was in Roxy Music after John Wetton left. Wetton played bass in Family after Ric Grech left to join Blind Faith with Clapton. Adam is 3 degrees removed from Clapton.

Aerosmith: Aerosmith are in the movie Sgt. Pepper with Peter Frampton. Frampton was in Humble Pie with Steve Marriott, who Small Faces with Ronnie Lane. Lane played with Clapton and Pete Townshend on the Rough Mix album. Aerosmith is 4 degrees removed from Clapton.

The Allman Brothers Band: Duane Allman played with Eric in Derrick and the Dominoes. The Allmans are once removed from Clapton.

Joan Armatrading: Longtime Clapton keyboardist, Dick Sims, plays on Joan's “Show Some Emotion". Joan is 2 degrees removed from Clapton.

America: America's album Holiday was produced by George Martin. He also produced The Beatles when Clapton joined them for "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". America is 2 degrees removed from Clapton.

The Animals: Andy Summers of The Police was briefly a member of The Animals in 1968. Sting does a duet with Clapton on the soundtrack to the 1992 movie Lethal Weapon 3. The Animals are 2 degrees removed from Clapton.

First of all to you Ringo fans out there. I love his drumming. He is certainly a very good solid drummer. As far as Clapton goes, I never said he was a world class singer either. But to my ears he does do a much better job than Ringo. Plus his guitar playing is a thing of beauty.

There is only one blues musician that I like better and that is Gary Moore.

I don't try to hide my love for all types of music. I even like those other two, country and western. LOL

Ringo's singing actually sounds much better than he ever did on his new CD, "Choose Love." I think ProTools has something to do with it, though. Singer? No. Drummer? I will fight to the death anyone who disses Richie. I always appreciated Clapton's ability to do blues & the "White Room" falsetto stuff equally well.

On the track " I wanna be your man"
It brings a great extacy to my ears when the chorus begins. Nothing against Ringo but it's such a relief. . .

Such a difference in tone and voice. . . .

Kinda like riding through a bit of turbulance only to come out unharmed.

Same thing on "Boys," I betcha!

Somewhat. . .but "Boys" isn't as dynamic. I'm sticking with " I wanna be your man"

I've always had a heck of a time trying to nail Revolution #9 on my bouzouki. Maybe it'll be easier on my new Ric.
