I don't know about replicating the Lennon vibe, but with a 1997, you can certainly go anyway, way you choose. You can live any how, win or lose. You can go anywhere for something new. Anyway, anyhow, anywhere you choose.

Paul, the 1997 is no longer available, but they do crop up from time to time on the used market. They were, as Stan said, a vintage style 330, as made for the export market (notably the UK), where F holes were deemed more suitable. They are also one of the most fabulous gtrs that Ric have ever made IMO...

I have a 360 myself but if I were gonna do the Lennon thing it would be with a Jetglow 350 liverpool with toasters. Only your hairdresser would know for sure that you were'nt John you'd sound so simular

Thanks Tony!

What type of strings are most suited for the 350V63? I usually use D'ddario 10's on my Fender and Gibson.

Thanks
Paul

Everybody has their own views on this Paul, but it is my opinion that Ric strings help to give 'that' Ric sound.

Having said that, many will say that Pyramid flats will help you get the '60's Beatles sound.

Congratulations Paul. I am pleased you got a 21 fret model with toasters. I tried Pyramids on my Model 350 and while the sound is nice, it was a very tough play for me in my advancing age. If you are a string bender, Pyramids are not the plan as far as I am concerned.

I like RIC strings as they are easy to play, intonate well and have a great sound. They are on my Model 350 as we speak. I find that they have the right mix of sound an feel and I keep coming back to them. I tried Thomastik Infeld flats as well and returned to the RIC strings for my 350.

You will also have good success with semi-flats and as part of your experimentation I would not hesitate to try GHS Nickel Rockers. A nice feel and a vintage sound but not as good as the RIC strings in my view. While of superb quality, D'Addario electric strings rate toward the bottom of the pack as far as sound goes. I did not like the Chromes on my 350 at all.

This is all a matter of preference, of course, and you may disagree entirely given your set up.

My 350V63 just arrived yesterday afternoon and can't seem to put it down. I just love the tone coming out of this RIC. I'll post some pics soon.

I do have a question. I can't seem to find the serial #. Where would that be?

Thanks
Paul

Did you stay up all night playing your new arrival? I know I sure as hell did! I invested many priceless moments of the twilight hours, playing, strumming, wondering the property with portable amp. . .priceless I tell you. . .

And did the guards on the graveyard shift complain?

Congratulations, Paul. A great choice! IMO, stay with the standard RIC strings.

I've lost many hours of sleep each time a Rick has joined the family. Feeling a bit weary now, as a mater of fact...... ZZZZZ.....
