yer but, no but...

Bob,real piano strings have overtones only a few cents sharp. I think rotosound got a bit carried away ...

Joey,I hear what you're saying about that E.

None of you are having my horsie! :0)

RS55 45 are a possibility, I tried some 40's and they seem a bit brighter than ( or less bottom than) RS66 and a tad stiffer.

The horseshoe is definately too close, but the problem remains when it is far away, same for toaster.

I am using a set of labella deep talkin' rounds tonight.
they have a very roto growl but a more confident low.
they have a great vibe through my practise rig
(a pre amp through a hifi) not sure how they will speak through the eden.
Last time I tried them they didn't cut though the mix, but it may have been lazy EQ for the venue.

thanks for all the input guys.

Have you isolated environmental factors? I had the same thing happening with my 330 (yeah I know it's not a bass but) and it turned out to be a weird intereference coming from the ceiling fan. I've heard some people get it from large appliances like refrigerators. Try the amp in different rooms or through headphones.
