Kenn, I think you're right. I was going from memory since I've sold both. But it must have been the 2001 color. I do remember that the 330 was made several months into the following year, but that must have been 2002.
What I was forgetting is that Burgundy came the year between DG and MB. Since MB was definitely introduced in 2003 that would make Burgundy the 2002 color and DG 2001.

I think the color of the year idea is great. RIC started it with Sea Green in 2000, Desert Gold in 2001, Burgundy in '02, Montezuma Brown in '03 (extended through '04), Blue Boy (powder blue) in '04, and BlueBurst in '05. The reason there is some spread of the color of the year is that you can place an order up to the end of the calendar year to capture that color, but the instrument might not be made for several more months. I thought I was getting under the wire when I ordered my Monte in late December '03, and then RIC extended that color through '04. My bass has an '04 serial. I'm sure you'll be able to find '05 Montes out there as well, but you can no longer order one as that color is no longer available.

I ordered a 4003FL BlueBoy last September I'll bet it has an 06 or 07 date on it.

I wonder how many SG 4003's they made, I only know of two, they had to have made many more than that, people must be hanging on to them. You would think you'd see one for sale at least once in a while, strange. That's a nice V63.

Steve Wood, please send me your address, when you'll be out of the house, and what kind of security system you have installed there. Specifics, please.
Now, I'm loosing track. Is your SG V63 from Tim Sarter or from Chris Pappas (or was it Brian Chrisman ? )? I know the two have moved around quite a bit.

Tim's SG is what led me to the forum.I should have picked up the one from Mike Parks at $2500. Should be worth more now, as v63's in nice shape seem to be going regularly for around 2K

I thought long and hard about TS's SG when he put it up for sale. That's one of the very few I wish I had been more proactive about...

I too, missed the boat on Tim's SeaGreen v63. All I have now to remember her by is a photo of her in my hands! I think I went out as high bidder on two of his auctions on that bass.
And like Marc, that bass is what led me to this forum. Tim is a great guy, but he really should have slapped me in the face and told me to wake up and BUY his bass!
Oh well, I guess its better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all!
So, by my count then...I know of 5 Seagreen v63's now:
-Tim's Sarter's (sold to a non-forum member)
-Chris Pappas'(sold to another non-forum member)
-Another unrelated to both of the above that sold on ebay on a BIN about an hour after it was listed and about two weeks after Tim sold his.
-Steve Wood's.
-The one Mike Parks sold.
