Kent, the toasters that i tried on the 24-fret 330 didn't sound like it had a lot of low end, and I didn't hear a lot of shimmer that I was hoping for. The hi-gains on the turq 360 were smooth and the balance between the bottom and high end was great. Although i didn't like the toasters on the 330/6 i tried them on a 21-fret 330/12 and I loved the tone from that guitar. Also, I tried a maple 360 with hi-gains but I didn't like it at all.

As for the necks the only neck i really felt "at home" on was on the turq 360 and the 330/12. The Maple 360's neck felt sticky, but its probably an isolated case. The Mont Brown 330 felt too thin to me. The 360 and the 330/12 had chunkier necks, and chording was much more comfortable.

And concerning all those 'yuckaroo' comments...When I saw it i agreed. When i played it I agreed. When I went home and posted this thread I agreed. But now...its starting to grow on me

And thanks eggman... Until I played that 360, (having only played the monty 330) i wasn't really sure why people liked Ricks as much as you people do. But now i know.....and knowing is half the battle

Here is another picture of my black and blue 360. The look of the guitar seems to change a lot depending on the light conditions. Although it's not the best photo (the long-haired gentleman chose the wrong place to stand), this one shows how it sometimes looks almost black under stage lights. Plus there's the 330 Jetglo for comparison, so that's nice.

I can't promise that the turquoise would grow on you the same way the blue/black has grown on me, but if you like the sound and feel of the 360 you should at least try to play a couple of other 360's to see how you feel without the color variable. Personally, I'd rather play a less common color guitar (even turquoise) to stand out from the crowd.

On a different topic, I'd forgotten how utterly boring sunburst P-basses can look. Or maybe it's the beauties on either side of it...

The neck comments are rather strange in the light of comments made by Ben Hall which seems to indicate that the necks on these new guitars are CNC-shaped.

Well the 360 turq is a 2002, the 330 a 2004, the 330/12 a 1966, and the 360 maple a 2000. I'm guessing there might be some differences...but i dont know when the CNC machines were employed.

I really don't see what is THAT bad about Turquoise... Some of you make it sound like im committing Rickenbacker murder......really its more like taking in an ugly mutt of dog

edit: When i was looking at the guitar I was with a girl and she loved the Turquoise one, and thought the Monty was uuuuuugly. Different strokes I suppose

Sam... she's obviously not the girl for you if she loves turquoise guitars.

At first I disliked the Turquoise color on the 360. However, it's growing on me and if I hadn't already ordered a Blueburst, I would probably just get the Turquoise. I like it better than the MG and the JG now.

In fact, on the 360s here's my order of preference (for those that I've seen in person):

Blueburst
Midnight Blue
Fireglo
Turquoise
Montazuma Brown
Jetglo
Mapleglo
Blueboy (I would like this alot more if it had black binding)

My list would look like:

Jetglo and Mapleglo (both are great)
Montazuma Brown (a close second)
Fireglo
Midnight Blue
Blueburst
Blueboy

and then there's that OTHER unmentionable color

Kent, do you know that "Brammy" means turquoise in Swahili?

I thought the knitting factory made sweaters. Bands play there, too?

I have and ocean torquoise Strat and I like the color on it pretty well. I have some cascade Kustom amps that are really the same thing. I have also seen a torquoise Ric bass. It looked nice with the white guards.
