Rob, while I agree with some of your observations, there is still much to be said for the OS 360/12's, rarity for one thing.

That's pretty sweet actually.

I almost bought a fireglo 6 string one on eBay back in January but I got jittery. It's just personal taste really - I'm all about the full length inlays, 21 frets and toasters you see.

The 1st ones were 330WBBS(with binding on both sides) since the 360 also had binding on the back side.

I didn't have anything better to do, so I thought I show a pix of my refinished 360 Tuxedo (purchased from Kevin on this site).

Kevin..... she's sounding great and is my main gig guitar these days.

Kent, I'm glad to see that the refinished Tuxedo found a good home and that you are satisfied.

Here is a link to a recent auction for a beautiful Fireglo 360 WB that I owned for awhile.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7342935467

The auction ended early and I was wondering what happened to it.

The "WB" models are some of my favorite guitars and I still have a couple in my collection.

I think 360s are classic Ricks, no question about it.

But, just as I prefer my 4005s double bound, so it's the same with my 360s. Oddly, I think that the rounded later versions of these two classics look dated, while the double-bound ones are timeless to my eyes.

The rounded ones just look like...uh...toilet seats to me. And to have that lovely binding on the back, where it can't be seen, seems a bit of a waste, although it makes perfect sense construction-wise.

Hi Y'all,
I thought that a tuxedo was white with black pick guards. Does it also apply to MG with black pick guards?

Sorry for the newbie question.

Andy, as far as I know, all Tuxedo models were painted white including the fingerboards. That particular Tuxedo was striped and refinished in clear before I bought it. I was surprised that the fingerboard was maple but it makes sense. Reminds me of a natural Tele with with black pickguard.

Kevin,

I confess that I have never seen a "tuxedo" Rickenbacker with a "white fingerboard" As the say a picture is worth a thousand words so I would love to see one. I have a white 4001 bass with black pick guard and TRC. The fret board is standard Ric issue.

Karl,

That was the most beautiful 2 things I have ever seen. You have the guitar and amp of my dreams.
