Chris, we all feel your pain.

Well, sort of.

OK, we don't feel it at all. Image

When I got my first 4003 in 1992 there was a 4005 hanging on the wall of a California shop - if I remember right it was a grand and no one was in line for it...

This '79 has a nice Jetglo and looks in VG shape but it is after all a 79er...

That's a sleek looking bass. IMHO 4005's look best in either Jetglo or Burg.

The year I was born, very interested, is he shipping worldwide? Sorry I'm asking - I can't get on the bay because of works firewall!

Is there a BIN?

Seriously considering going for this

I couldn't keep up with all the 4005's on the bay of late as I was going between Paris, Barca and Valencia but what kinda prices were they going for?

That is one sexy bass, but are they really worth 6K?

In '79 how much was the list price compared to a 4001?

No BIN, and no reserve (except for the starting bid). He's got one bid on there now for the opening price. We'll see. Looks really nice, best unrestored fiver I've seen, but I'm not interested in owning one unless I could get it real cheap and sell it not so cheap. I'll have to see if I can get photos . . . .

Excuse me won't you...I'm off to buy a lottery ticket.

There is a lot of other great stuff you can buy for $4K, I'd have to think about it really hard.

It's going to go high, any bets? I'll take the action. That thing is beautiful, who cares if it doesn't have toasters? High gains sound better anyway (ducking) and it's more likely to be in better shape all around and built better. I'll bet that's more rare than a 60's model. and it doesn't have that binding on the face of the bass either, very smooth looking.

If I win the auction, I'm gonna put a horseshoe pickup right between the two high gains.

And I'm gonna re-finish it pea green.

Foam mute? Was that a feature of the later 05's or is my 67 missing something?
