While on the subject of the Rick site and copy, what about the hype on the V63 bass, where it says something like, "Transported in time from Liverpool in 1963".....You read it yourself in context and think about the copy, but excuse me? Paul didn't get his Rick bass until '65, if I recall any Beatle guitar history correctly. The Beatle guitar collector guys are some of The Most picky guys out there!!
Don: While there can be little doubt that Paul McCartney popularized the 4001 Model in the mid 1960s, it may be that RIC is speaking to a time that predates Paul as well. Afterall, he did turn them down for a while, but fortunately accepted the Fireglo in 1965 which really made an impact on their sound.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Hey Don,
How do YOU know there wasn't someone in Liverpool in 1963 playing a Rickenbacker bass? I mean it could of been some well-to-do kid with a father who made a lot of money and made a lot of trips to the States. Now maybe this kid just had no musical talent and never played anywhere but in his room, and quit after his fifteenth birthday, but... THAT'S the one they're talking about! :->

"This is the big one, Elizabeth, I'm coming to join ya, honey!"
