Wow, guys. Looks like our work will be cut out for us if we want to have as much fun as the guys out in SoCal.

Hey Chris Pappas, how far of a drive would this be for you? Think you and your 4005's can make it?

Patience, everyone....if the M/A fest comes together, a splendid time will be had by all. Count on it!

Just a quick 140 miles (+/-) from South Jersey. If I am not gigging that day, I'll make the trip!

No wives, right?

Are you implying that Melissa is not invited? After all, she is someone's wife! Image

Oops...not at all, Jeff! Image
I should have said, "Not MY wife, right?"

If I don't have to be back in Chicago that weekend, I'll definately be there.

One thing that I will say to who ever is going to attend future confluences, where ever they may be, is I encourage you to bring stands for your instruments.
Quite a few were displayed on the floor at the SoCal confluence. That made me a bit uneasy. My fretless 4001 was one displayed like that. There was less space to freely walk around. I felt someone could possibly trip and get hurt and maybe fall on someone's guitar. We had a near miss with Jim Blake's 4005, I didn't see exactly what happened, but I think it might have had something to do with of much of the floor being taken up by cases open with guitars in them. Luckily, Jim's 4005 was grabbed before it hit the floor.

Thanks for thinking of me, but Maryland is a little far from Minnesota, LOL! ....Unless I can find my way there when my husband goes on a buying trip to New York.... That all depends on when it is and what arrangements can be made....

In regard to stands at confluences, I would recommend the Fender mini-stand. Relatively inexpensive, fairly sturdy, very light, and they fold up. And they won't damage the finish on your prized possessions!! I've got about a dozen of them and they are ideal, especially if you are travelling. About the size of a folded telescopic umbrella.

RE: Stands
I like the Ultimate Genesis 100 stand. It's height- adjustable, holds the guitar by the headstock and has no body supports...just soft, velvety-covered legs that the back of the body rests against. It's real easy to hang your guitar on, and you don't have to worry about balancing it on body supports. I get 'em for $20-25 each.

I have a reservation on the space at Montpelier for November 5 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 or 10:00. I've not put any money down so we could still make changes.

My question to the group is do you think this is enough time? I've been looking for places where we could have an all day type event and the prices go way up.

I'm open to suggestions, so lets hear it.

Nov.5th works for me! I'm in....

I can bring both 4005's, my '72 and '73 4001's, the Shadow and my beat up old v63....and wouldn't it be nice if my 4004cii/BBR came in before then?? Image

I also have an early '80s TR35B bass amp that I can bring.....

I'll bring my 4004Ci, 4003s8 and the 4004LK (unless my "collection" changes by then). I can also bring part of my amp if we think it will be needed.

Chris....I did get my LK after waiting 4.5 years just days before the Columbus Confluence so maybe attending one brings good fortune and your 4004Cii/BBR will arrive just in time Image.
