I might have to retract my bid,the seller emailed me with the serial # its LK making it a 72.I'm certainly not trying to corner the market on 72s.

Here's a '71 headstock for reference. Small headstock with walnut ends.

Hm... Exactly like the headstock on my two 21 fret 4001s (August & November 1970).

Six minutes to go and it's at $1,076.00...Even with the "unfortunate" mods, this seems like a great deal, and it can be salvaged.

My clicking finger is getting itchy.

I scratched the itch but got outbid in the final 5 seconds. The reserve wasn't met anyway.
