Just as I suspected...

If I end up near Philly anytime soon, I'll cook you dinner if you let me check one out! (Did I mention I was a chef in a former life?)

Yes, but the BG needs to be replaces by a Ruby Red. I know they made at least one.

Dave,
indeed, my 4080 (a 1979) originally came with black pickguards and TRCs. I replaced the 'guards with white ones of my own and ordered two white TRCs from RIC, back when things were much easier in that department! (early '80s)

And, yours is one cool 4080 collection! Care to let us know the dates of manufacture of those three beauties?

"... I don’t know if it is because of the tons of extra wood, or the 5th knob"

Maybe it's the bolt-on construction. The neck joint makes a difference.

"... It looks even cooler than mine."

Sérgio, NOTHING looks cooler than your AG 4080. Even a Shadow pales in comparison.

Sergio, from memory.

Wht = 8/1975
AZ Blue = 9/1975
BG = 9/1979
MG = 4/1979 (Not shown, going under resto)

I will double check this once I get home.

Ken, I don't want to be accused of being a "4080 hog" again. Let me know if you want it, and I'll step aside. Image

Thanks, Ilan. Well, actually I'm currently looking for an Azureglo 4001, preferably from the '70s, to add to my Rick collection, as I already have an 'all-black' 4001 (an April 1974).
Thanks, Dave. So, you own four 4080s now?!? Wow! How about a couple of juicy pictures of each one of them?
