I plugged it in last night, somebody really new what they were doing with this one,its like it was owned by one of us. The intonations dead on the action is super low with no buzz, both pickups are equal in volume, the cap is gone,Its either the cleanest 72 out there,or a factory refine, its that clean, fretboard and all. When he said some scratches,he meant, everyday tiny little scratches you get wiping it down with a terry cloth. It looks brand new.If its a refine i want to know who did it,getting that shade[vintage fireglow] right is one in a million.Unless this thing has been in someones collection since 72.Dont know???

She looks stunning Ken. I would have thought it was a refin, a bit like my MG 72 refin. My basstech said it was the best refin job he had ever seen, wonder if it was done by the same guy?
If there is no 'step' where the binding meets the body then it is a refin for sure.

It looks like an original fireglo finish to me. It just looks like an early 70's FG. The difference to most other examples is that it has not been exposed to UV light or a smokey bar type atmosphere and therefore has not developed that darker patina that they usually do.
You can usually tell because the MOP inlays have no yellowing to them. My 68 is the same.

Received them Ken...
It looks very like my April 73 FG FL, which again has seen little use. Does it have a late 72 serial number?

I thought it may be a little later. Still, I'm thinking it's an all original finish.
One of the best you will find....

What are those four 'cut-outs' on the (period-incorrect) handrest? Recesses for the individual strings? Or is it my eyes?
