Cool pictures, guys.

I think I will go ahead and get one of the Blue Boys Mike Parks has on order...fretless even. Then it will truly be a different bass from what I already have.

A fretless BB will be a rare bird in years to come. For sure.

I get the impression that Monty Brown was a very popular finish, so it would stand to reason that there are a lot of them out there. The same probably goes for Burgundyglo. The solid finishes of Sea Green, Desert Gold and Blue Boy don't seem to be as prevalent (just going by inventory at dealers and E-Bay). To the right collector, one of these comparatively "rarer" finishes could go for more bucks. Although RIC doesn't release production figures, it would be interesting to know how the first five COY's ranked in terms of popularity. As for me, I like the pastels...

Steve, is the V63 a sea green?

Is that the one from MIke P?

It's a V63 Sea Green that I purchased from a fellow who used to post here a bit. Thought I paid too much for it at the time, but the way V63's in standard finishes are rising in value, I feel pretty good about my purchase! Image

That sea green and the search for it was what brought me here to the forum. I had contacted Mike Parks about his. He was looking for 3K. It was true NOS.

There was reportedly between 10-11 v63's made in sea green. I've only seen one in turquoise but, I imagine there's a few. What other colors has anyone else seen(not refined of course)?

I guess it's an optic illusion, but the V63 looks 25% larger than the 4003!

It has a 25% larger sound, too!

I can't see enough photos of SeaGreen Ricks.
