I'm about to put my old GK 2 x 10 cabinet back to use as I'm picking up a Walter Woods to run through it. Will report as soon as it's set up.

I have Eden cabs, one 2X10 and a 1X15, don't know the model numbers off-hand. I really like them live, but not as warm as my old setup which was an SWR Goliath Jr. 2X10 and a JBL 1X15. I still use these for the mic'd signal when I record.

I own a Carvin 210, and thought it blew away the Aguilar GS-112 I had. So I sold it.

Carvin makes good middle-of-the-road, utility stuff.

I was using a really great Eden Metro 2x10 amp, until some *** broke my van window and stole it out of my garage.

It was clear and had good low end, and when you added a 1x15 to it, it was great for club dates.

That seems to be where this whole thing is leaning...

I am always amazed by my Ashdown ABM 2x10. It does 80-90% of my gigs on its own. I have never heard it protest with my 300 Evo head. It is also a one hand lift. It has saved me so much lugging grief. It also sounds great which of course is the important bit.

Keith I totally agree. I use 2 Ashdown 2x10 ABM cabs with a 500 watt head, sounds fantastic.

I use just one cab on its end with the amp for smaller gigs.

They really are incredible. On the rare occasion I may need more power I use a Trace 2x10 as well, but that is rare. The Ashdown just copes with most of the venues I play without even breaking sweat. The volume is usually around the 3 or 4 mark. Even less so is the occasion when I play with my other band (which is a bit more frenzied) I will use the Ashdown with a Peavey head powering the Trace cab. But that is off the subject really. If I needed the extension more regularly I would sell the Trace and get another ABM 2x10 as the Trace is a lump to lug. God help you 8x10 guys out there.

You know it's funny, I eventually bought my Aguilars on the strength of nothing but fantastic reviews, and since I bought them have heard several negative comments. At the time I could've bought a mint used ABM 2x10 for £225, but couldn't find a single review and couldn't get down to try it. Talk about bad timing! Would've saved me £400! Still, so far I'm very happy with the Aguilars, although it's early days yet. And FWIW my 2x10 vote (not having tried the ABM 210) would also go Eden's way...great cabs.

And Keith, I remember the days when I used to easily carry my 100lb Trace 4x10 around.....nowadays I'd have to have a chiropracter standing by ready! 8x10? Never even in the frame...besides which I'd have drowned my band out as soon as I fired it up.

No chiropracter bills required for us 2x10 crew. That was a very good deal on that ABM at £225 Shaun, its a shame it got away. It is the way to go in my opinion. If there was a reasonably priced single 10" cab that would meet the requirement I would look at it I'm sure. I think gigging with a cab with a single 10 might be a bit much to ask mind unless going through the PA. Eden get very good feedback. I also hear very good things about Epifani although I suspect they will be quite expensive.

Jared, the pic you posted is like the top half of what I have, except I think mine is an earlier model. For a 2X10 it will move some air. Luv it.

I think Eden makes the best cabs out there. They make all their own drivers in house. They used to supply SWR many years ago.
