Also Maxwell's Silver Hammer, at least during the Get Back sessions, bass (Fender VI) was DEFINITELY played by George. I think with Old Brown Shoe there is some contention...it does not sound like Paul to me but Ian MacDonald ("Revolution in the Head") says it was. Could have just been varispeeded I suppose to yield a different tone, but it sounds plainly like George to me and resembles the what he started in his studio demo 2/25/69.
Paul also played lead on Taxman. I was sure Lennon played Fender VI on Hey Jude as he did in the promo video.

Which promo video of "HJ"? George played the Fender VI on the Frost show, as stated before.

But who played the tambourine on the David Frost performance? That's what I want to know. He looks like he's really getting into it. Bet he later went on to play the cowbell on 'Don't Fear The Reeper'. Hey, it's possible...

And seriously...I've always wondered what's up with his kick drum head? Is it the same one in MMT minus the text? It's the same color, but no writing.

Looks to me like The Beatles tried to expand their line-up and later decided to go back to their original 4-piece band. Since Brian was already dead at this point, it was up to The Beatles themselves to fire the new members. Several of these now-former Beatles considered started a band called The Pete Bestles. The tambourine player however found fame playing with Blue Oyster Cult.

I've never noticed the broken edge on Paul's pickguard before. That something that those with a fetish should recreate. And I can't believe those liner notes were really so engrossing...

I read in a guitar player magazine where George definitively states that he played bass on Old Brown Shoe. I remember him saying something like "Paul wasn't the only one who could go off..." or something like that.
I'll try and dig out the issue.

Thanks Randy. As you can tell I have not been a big Stones fan over the years so that's why I did not recognize that album cover.
I understand that Paul used to hang out with them when they all lived in London, maybe that's why he was intently reading the liner notes. Then again he is a bit of a poser.
