Cruel and unusual punishment for a bass that I'm certain did nothing wrong to it's owner.

I have an "OB"...February 1975...

Although my 4001 is 12 miles away, it senses this affront to it's own kind. It is crying for the abuse a sibling has been put through.

Oh, the humanity...

My white '77 4001 was pretty close to that condition when I got it: wiring gutted, useless J pup in the bridge position, dead original pup in the neck. Finish is still original though. That poor thing isn't really a Rick anymoreImage

Nate ... I changed the picture of the 10 string bass because somebody e-mailed me and said that was his picture and it was copyrighted and the guy in the picture was a very talented jazz musician who lost most of his basses in the Katrina flood ... so this bass is gone ...

So I found another picture that I could use ...

Why in the world would you put a P-bass bridge on a Ric? Why? It's a horrible bridge, and it looks stupid on the Ric and it's mounted incorrectly and oh my god what were they thinking? The pickup choice is excellent (DiMarzio's are nice), but he should've maybe NOT GUTTED THE RIC for them. He should've dropped them into the p-bass he took the bridge from.

I wonder if the black headstock is covering a neck repair? Looks like it....
With the shape that bass is in, wouldn't surprise me one bit.

I would have bought it for the $1 starting bid... would have been a fun project! (right after my other two 4001's I haven't found time to restore!).

Wow, it sure is ugly though!
