It's funny, most people want to know how to MAKE their guitars yellow.

I never understood that.
In the sixties, when those desired Rickies were still new, they hadn't yellowed yet.

My point of view is : I buy a reissue, so I want it to sound AND look as if I was back in 1964.
I don't want it to be a copy of a 40 year aged guitar.

Try this:

What's that, Jeffrey?

I meant, I'd want a guitar like it was new in 1964, not like a 1964 guitar would look like in 2005.
Maybe I wasn't clear enough.
I express myself better in Dutch, but you people don't understand that Image
Whenever I get to rule the world you'll all learn Dutch. There. First measure taken.

Wim, Jeff has posted a picture from a sixties TV serial about two scientists travelling in the past...don't remember the name
anyway I agree with you, if I want a reissue I want it new as our dream instruments were in the 60s

I think the TV show was called 'The Time Tunnel'. Lots of my wasted youth was spent in front of a television...

Dr Evil's time tunnel in the second Austin Powers movie was inspired by this original time tunnel.

so much for the tunnel.
I took my v64 outside in bright sunlight today and the bindings looked even more yellowed.
boy do I really hate this.
I'm even thinking about selling the damn thing, if only it didn't sound so good it'd be gone already.

I have a yellowing problem with this bass. It was just refinshed white like Squire's bass but, I shot this pic on Wed:

Maybe the same guy that did Ken's refin did yours?

Actually he did, and I was just kidding around. In my case, the result was correct.

I know, Marc.

It's the already legendary 4000MS limited edition, isn't it?

Yeah, limited to one. Probably not Rickenbacker endorsed but, I hope it inspires others to follow their dreams...

Wim, I'll give you $500.00 to take that awful guitar with the yellow binding off your hands...
