The treble surround is on upside down because its the only way the holes line up without drilling new ones.
First of we all know [most don't]if he wanted a high gain in there the factory would not do it. So thats lie No1 who wants to deal with a dishonest seller"oh I didn't think it was important to mention that"or"that wasn't there when I sent it out"

I agree with Ken. I don't think JH would send out a C64 like that. It defeats the vintage purpose of the bass. I'd rather have the 'shoes myself, they make a nice hand rest that I use a lot.

I think he is asking too much. I'd buy it in a flash if it was cheaper.

He is asking too much. There is about $500 in missing pickups, and the Horseshoe is the single most important element in the vintage look. A toaster can be had very easily, but the horseshoe is an extremely tough find, and and expensive one, too.

I don't know, I still think beginning your ebay career selling a $1500 bass is a strange way to start. I know we all started at zero, but I started buying and selling much cheaper stuff than that.

Curious as to what the horseshoe will sell for. I think the last one went for about $500.

FYI, that's a V63 pickup, not a C64.

It would be a very great help if we could still order a v63 pickup from Rickenbacker !!!

Les
The first 2 items I sold on ebay were a Rick 4003S8 and an Alembic Stanley Clarke. Apart from a t-shirt I've only ever sold guitars on ebay. As I said, not everyone sells smaller items, and not everyone starts small.
BTW, to put the price of that C64 in perspective, a new one in the UK will cost you upwards of £1800.....yes, pounds sterling. So double it (roughly) in dollars....and that's actual price, not retail.

Oh, and both those guitars went for considerably more than this one is up for....

I would agree with Jim Glen (and I also LOVE Fireglo)!
