Sean, I was quite interested in this one first time around. Keep us posted if it's nice and you don't want it.

I went and saw it and bought it with a new case for $800. it's in pretty good shape. needs a cleaning. only a very slight lift in the tailpiece. the tuning machines are a little rough (what's a good way to make them turn a little more smoothly?). some fret wear but nothing too bad. it just needs a good cleaning and set up and i left it at GC just for that. their tech is really good. that thin white binding looks great too.

oh, some of the inlays have some cracks in them. nothing is moveable but the cracks are there.

Nice bass, Sean. You better use it too!
An inlay on my '76 has a crack in it. No big deal.

My '76 4001. My only bass right now. I sold my others because they sucked compared to this thing. I like the chrome and black look.. and the white binding sets it off and gives it a shape.

It's in pretty good shape for something 30 years old.. it has belt buckle rash on the back (not from me) but it doesn't go through to the wood. I couple nicks and dings here and there. I filled in the chips with a sharpie.. hehe. It came off my strap once and hit the floor.. but all I got from that were a few stress lines. The neck is fairly stable. I have stainless steel rounds on her atm. Warwick strings.. only ones I could afford at the local guitar stores. It originally had white plastic but I spray painted them.. now I'm going to look for real black plastic.. but this is fine until I have the money.
