I thought finishing was the bottleneck at the factory. Damned difficult to speed that up & still get top quality.

"Getting people trained would be the issue"...

Getting people to build guitars at wage that they can afford to live in "The OC" of California, yet keep the cost of the instruments reasonable, is another issue.
It's getting ridiculously expensive to live in the OC.

I'd love a new 8 string of any model.

I'd love to see a model that says 'Rickenbacker' but is completely new.

Ben has learned how to tease us without giving any specific information ... just like John Hall ...

Maybe the Hall family will change their last name to Rickenbacker for the 75th anniversary.

On my LK there was what appeared to be a glue drip next to the the neck p/u when I received it. I figured it was just an errant drip and went to clean it off with a light fingernail scrape. When I did it revealed a very minor chip that I would imagine happened during routing. It wasn't a big issue at the time and I felt funny mentioning it to Mr. Hall because he had just done me a major/HUGE favor (long story) and I felt like I might come off as being too picky and ungrateful. So I ended up fixing it myself with some filler and it came out fine.....nobody seemed to take notice at the Columbus Confluence anyway. And, like I said, it was minor.

After having it for a while it started to bother me because I was concerned about my repair lasting long term and about uneven aging that would make it obvious in the future so I emailed Mr. Hall (John) about it. Considering the time lapse and the fact that I made a repair I told him that I understood if it wouldn't be covered under warranty but that I wanted it to be right and would pay if they were willing to do the repair. Mr. Hall was very gracious and apparently understood why I didn't make an issue of it initially so they offered to fix it under warranty.....YEA!!!!!! So I overnighted it to Ric a few days later ($160-ish in case anyone wants to know what FedEx charges to ship a bass from Cleveland to California.....OUCH!) and am really hoping that the LK is what Ben was referring to in his comment above.

I can't say enough positive things about my dealings with Ric (corporate/Mr. Hall). I sent in my old 4003MID for warranty work several years ago and the bass came back looking far better than it did when I shipped it to them. Damage unrelated to the warranty claim was all repaired and it came back looking like new and came back quickly. Now all of the dealings I have had with them in relation to my LK have gone great as well.......even if Ben's reference wasn't to my LK being almost finished just the fact that they are taking care of it at all AND treating it as a warranty issueis great. It certainly is a warranty issue but I could absolutely understand if they didn't treat it as such considering the circumstances outlined above.

Thats a great testimony Brian. I had a minor issue with my '04 4003 Blueboy. Between Mike Parks (my dealer), and Rickenbacker (Kenny and Jay), I was treated with the utmost respect.

AND I REALLY APPRECIATE THAT !!! THANK YOU !!

The service after the sale is whats important.

I had a 4004CII where the neck was a little bowed. I sent it back to Ric. They made me a new one.

My dealings with the factory have always been pleasant they are a tight nit group, they seem like family members, it makes for a very personable staff that is always a pleasure to deal with.

Keep up the good work Rickenbacker.

The 4001v68 would really be a 4003v68 because of the newer truss rod system ,I do believe we will see it soon.
Lets hope for some odd reason it does not have a reverse headstock

Laminated binding custom option could be nice. Like that double-bound Jetglo that Sean just bought.
