Guys, there is a good chance that this could be a legit auction if the seller accepts escrow...
The deal with escrow services is that the buyers sends the cash to the escrow service. When it arrives they tell the seller and he sends the bass. Once the bass arrives the buyer notifies the escrow service that it is there and that they are happy with the transaction and then, and only then does the escrow service release the cash to the seller. The cash is NOT released unless the buyer is happy with the goods. And if the goods are never received the escrow service will return the buyer's money...
If the escrow service is legit, you've really got nothing to lose...

It look's too good to be true except for the Escrow part , I used escrow.com for an off ebay deal to get a '68 Tbird IV & it worked great , I got the Bass gave it a once over & then within I think 2-3 days they released my $$ to the seller , if this Bass is really in his hands maybe he could tell us about or provide us w/ photos of the Ric & Fender hanging on the wall w/ it,
that photo could be from a music shop, I checked gbase & found only the two big $ 6 & 8 string '05s for sale but I did find this worn burgundy glow '68 4005 in Japan @ $6,237.60
