Once I get the fretless I will let you know, they still have a couple of 82-3 fender elites in NOS and a anniversary p bass ,a 70s NOS Jazz in a Sianna sunburst...

Ilan - That is a beautiful bass! I have always given a good stare at those. Love the matching headstock and color and yes, the rosewood fingerboard is rare. The weight is the only issue for me.

Yup, the only problem is they weigh like a ton. And the rosewood ones (which look killer) were even heavier and their necks tended to warp. Still, 4080's weigh more...
I see P Specials fetching $800-$900 on eBay depending on condition (never saw a NOS there), they are so undervalued.

You guys like the sound of these. I never liked it. It was my main bass for about five years until I got my first Ric. Then nothing came close. I think there is something about my playing that I'm more well suited for the Ric tone. I owned a 5 string Music Man at one time, but could never get used to the sound. Flea made it sound great, but in my hands it wasn't working. I traded it for a Ric 5 string and now I'm happy.

Rikk, I have several basses and have experimented with lots of brands. I don't have one special one. I have basses that compliment certain sounds. And I like them for the special character they have. Each is different. I like mt Rics too!
