Hmm. White is not really a color, or it's the combination of all colors of light, black the combination of all colors of pigments.
What John might also be saying is that there is no NEW color for 2006, maybe Blueburst continued for another year (?).
We'll all know soon enough. I still think non-yellowing white with gold pickguard and maybe gold-colored binding would make a nice anniversary motif.

I keep saying THERE IS NO NEW COLOR FOR 2006 . . . per se.
That indicates to me that there won't be a
new colo(u)r for 2006!! Perhaps a blast from the past??!!
No more speculation for me..... I'll happily wait for whatever.

As long as it's not "Chickengreasglo" - not a finish I'm particularly fond of......

Blueburst will not be continued beyond the end of the year.
None of the old colors will be revived. In fact, I may kill one current color off.
Any "Poultry" or "Avian-Glo" shade would be a new color (but timely!) but as I said, no new colors.
Per se.

Is not the MID, the most difficult and time consuming finish to apply, that Ric currently has now?
Metal flakes and all.

No new color may just mean new woods/finishes...
.....or every model carved like a Lemmy
...or how about pasted on wallpaper like a paisley Fender?

I like the mid. Have been thinking about getting one in the future.
