Actually my wife has asked me several times and I can't remember, serendipity perhaps?
I was in Peru in an internet cafe, and for some reason I think someone told me about it. But I don't know who in Peru would have told me about it. I think that actually I did a Google.com search for Rickenbacker and found it, I never knew anything like this existed. At this point I've been back in the states for a month and a half and find myself here several times a day. (obvious by the number of posts I've rung up here in 4 months). I will find myself cutting back in a few weeks as I will have to use internet cafes again. I have learned a real lot in the four months I've been here that used to take me many months and many mistakes to learn, great site Peter, Thank you.

Thanks Bob. You did fine on the Internet cafes before, if I remember correctly. I hope you get the chance to "Peruz" the Rickenbacker Forum and continue to offer your experience.

Evil Bob's Rickenbacker Planet
alt.guitar.rickenbacker
Mike Parks site - back in the '90s he seemed to have so many guitars on order there -- it was great when he'd get in an order and post the new pics!
I do miss Evil Bob's place, but I love this one just as much! And I started coming here as soon as it got started...
Great site Peter!

I'll still be Peruzin' this site quite regularly Peter and also Peruzin' and hopefully palayin' the local scene much more than the last time.
PS. You haven't lived until you have heard a native Spanish speaker who "no habla Inglés" sing Yesterday.

I found Evil Bob's Rickenbacker Planet via I can't remember which search engine in '96 and from there found alt.guitar.rickenbacker, where I lurked mostly but always read the posts. From there I found out about Peter's registration page (just remembered one of my Rick basses needs to be registered still) and have been a regular visitor and sometimes contributor here since the Forum began.

I'll never forget Evil Bob's cool article, "How to Fetish a Rickenbacker," where he perfectly described and coined the "Grrch-Pang!" term!

Like years ago when i first thought "im gonna have a Ricky one day".....i did a google, and this was the first site. All the great photos just made me want one to the point where i got one. Then i figured "well.....i may as well learn about it".
Out of all forums ive checked out, regardless of subject, this ones by far the most friendly!

i may have came across this site the same way some others have stated they got here. bought a Ric and then looked up more info on line.
2 other slight possibilities are1- banta may have suggested i visit here from another forum we are both members on.
2-looking for an online registration of my bass instead of mailing the card.
in any event i am glad i did find this place , lots of cool people here and most importantly no RUDENESS.every one acts like an adult here, a very refreshing change from most other music related sites..

I found this site through correspondence with Jay Crowley at Rickenbacker. He was very responsive and helpful. I was exchanging e-mails with him to get tech info. and to track down a specfic RIC. He suggested this link and Voxtalks.
I'm glad I found this site...it's been hard to pull myself away. You guys are great.
