The Titans are much better tuners than the Slimlines.

I just put a set of gold plated Titans on my Electra anf I love 'em. Very solid feel to them. Way cheaper than Schallers too.

Yeah, and they look just as good as the Schallers. For some reason, I really like open gear tuners with larger pegs, like the clover-leaves or the Titan style pegs. They might weigh more, but I think they almost always look better than the tiny little tuners that people always use, the only exception that I know of would be on 4004 basses, but then again, I'm sure those would look great with a set of the Schaller open-gear tuners.

I actually want those schallers on my 4001 now. The M4 tuners I've been thinking about are too small.. the M4S tuners look right. I don't like the clover leaf tuners on mine and those are perfect. I like tuners with a flat top. Triangular in shape. The only thing that bothers me is the larger headstock holes needed.

And also, you'd probably have screw holes on the back of the headstock showing.
