I would be okay with P-bass if it was the incredibly overdriven, distorted tone that Entwistle and Wetton got on their P-basses. Other than that . . . Rickenbacker all the way . . . though there is a certain charm to the Gibson EB-3 . . .

I came out as a P bass too.
Oh well....at least there is a picture of a gorgeous girl with a P bass at the end of the quiz..

EB-3! I knew that was gonna happen too - I chose "chunky but short scale" for the neck question, since these days I'm playing a Gibson Melody Maker...

Jazz bass, then P-bass, finally Rickenbacker. It took 3 trys to finally get it right.

good call Ilan! hey Owen - yeah, it appears to be original - someone at
the Dudepit has one too. Mine's a '68, and the pickguard is somewhat yellowed (can't tell in the picture probably because of the flourescent lighting) and the green looks like it was originally "pelham blue" (check out this
'65 EB-3 for comparison). Someone suggested that the white pickguard was an attempt on Gibson's part to cash in on the Fender share of the market.
You can here it
here on the track "over there" - the only bass on there is the Melody Maker, though it's overdubbed.
Now back to your regularly schedule Rick forum...

I am quite accurately a Gibson Thunderbird.
Lot's of bottom with a slender neck, and I have broken headstocks.

Mine came out P-Bass, which is ironic since I don't like their necks. Notice how the quiz was set up to show that only the prog rockers use Ric? I guess Roger Glover and Glenn Hughes don't matter for much.

This is kind of goofy...the questions and, more importantly, choices of responses are extremely limiting. "Sometimes you feel like a nut...", etc. What if you really like Prog Rock and Funk? Is that not allowed? What if you can't decide between Chris Squire and Bootsy Collins??? This is why I own a 4001 and a P-bass.
As for 'myself', I'd have to say I'm a washtub with a broom handle and some twine.

I'm a P-Bass. I made 10 attempts to adjust my answers in order to get the correct answer, but every time I came up P-Bass. Entwistle, Squire, McCartney...didn't matter. Chunky neck, thin neck broken headstocks or not....Rock, Brit Rock...Its no use.
And that's the kind of day I'm having. I just made a $3000.00 mistake at work. Boss man's gonna kick my A$$! Anybody wanna buy a Rick collection?!
