Good one Jared! I like your thinking.

For me Dunlop .88mm nylon.

"picks just don't last long....couple of weeks at the very most."

You didn't read my post? I use ONE dunlop gator pick for TWO YEARS! I finally lost it for good a couple months ago. Then I bought a 12 pack of em. Image

Two years Nate????

How? Mine get so sharp after a couple of weeks, you could slice bread with them!

Make sure you keep your 12 pack where you can find them...that's 24 years worth...Image

Nice one Howard, tho you gotta be careful with those!

I use anything I can find but I like the Dunlop's because of the grip. I like to have a few different kinds too but I usually lose them.

Yeah... I wore it down pretty bad, but it still did it's job. I lost it plenty of times over that two years.. every couple weeks I'd loose it for a couple days. I ended up cutting the sharp point off with some nail clippers, and then I left it at an audition... I threw it on the floor when I got to a finger picking song, and I left it.

That pick got me through all of my pink floyd and beatles/mccartney stages. I don't think I'll ever use a different brand, and that's even if I stick with using a pick.

I sue a Dunlop nylon 0.73 and an 0.88 when I play mandolin and bouzouki. Love the grips. I was wondering if I'd change when I pick up the electric? I use my fingers probably 75% of the time anyway. They're nice because I never lose them like Nate's story and they never wear down.

Trat's right, Kevin.. upstrokes tend to rattle the ol' 'head' stock a bit!

I use mainly Dunlop nylon .38 or .53 but occasionally 1.0

I use Gibson "wedge" heavy gauge picks. I also use Clayton wedge 1.0 mm picks when I can't get the Gibsons. I like the wedge picks because they have sharper points on the end than most regular picks, which is great for fast alternate picking and squealing harmonics. I also like them because I have large hands and with them being larger in size, I can hold on to them better. Since they have a sort of triangle shape to them, I also like the fact that its impossible to hold one the wrong way. Also, if you break off an end, you still have two others to use, so its like having three picks in one.

I use regular Fender mediums for guitar. For bass, I use felt pics, except you can't find them anywhere. My buddy in LA went to a bunch of music stores until he found a guy that didn't look at him like he was from different planet when he asked for "felt picks". This guy had some in stock, and my buddy bought every single one of them, and shipped half to me. It only came to about 10 picks apiece, but I REALLY like them for bass. I'm no good with my fingers, and plastic picks make too much "clicking" noise for me.
