I'd like to know if anyone *anywhere* has ever bought *any* of those monstrosities...
Ed definitely lives up to his reputation, doesn't he?
'Scuse me while I locate a hot poker for my eyes.

Steve,
Rick Derringer obviously bought one or two. No wonder we never hear about him any more, he is obviously devoid of any taste at all now.
That's too bad because he was a great guitarist, especially during his "Johnny Winter" days.
Notice that all of those guitars and basses are "headless" and some are similar in shape to the Steinberger brand of instruments.

Maybe Peter can introduce a sign for threads that warns people not to look when they've just eaten.

Yeah Brian, I noticed those two were "Built For Rick Derringer" but I have to wonder if he actually paid for them or not.
And yeah, Rick was/is a great guitarist no doubt about it. But if he's buying/commissioning stuff like that...
Hey, I think I'm going to rewrite that one song and put it out as a fundraiser for his necessary eye surgery.
Now it'll be retitled as "(He's Got) Johnny Winters' Eyes."

Good one Steve,
Lets collaborate on that song!!!
I don't think Rick is a big enough star any more to get stuff for free. There again though, we are talking about Ed here. So who knows he may have produced a couple for him as "promotional gifts".

Headless guitars. Just like their creator and their purchaser/owner...

Oh... BTW... Aitch, have you noticed this moniker: "All Models available in Left Handed"? No i don't mean i think your son would be interested in any #### from this page, but... if he might have been interested in "Sabre", why not?

Just kiddin', no offence meant of course.
Brian: 5+!

I saw Leslie West play an EVH style LSR headless guitar when I saw Mountain in St Louis last February. I cannot believe that a player of his caliber would even give a monstrosity like that a second glance, let alone actually play one. Thankfully, he only used it for a couple of songs.

I believe that Ed bought up all of the remaining Steinberger parts when they closed shop. He was asking high dollar for the parts and probably couldn't sell them. Apparently he has resorted to this.

I haven't shown him the 'Sabre' yet, Sheena, but the more I consider it, the more I think he'll say 'thanks but no thanks!'.
BTW, I have it on good authority that this was Ed's last brain scan.....

I know you guys probably hate em, but I actually want one of the old Steinberger basses.. I always thought they were cool. It'd be nice to have on a really cramped stage.
And don't give me the "You're young and don't know that much" answer..

OK.
You're young and you know it all.
