I am inclined to agree with you Brian. It is a struggle for this singer unless it is, perhaps, a recent vintage tour effort by PJ. Originally P J's version was 1966 I believe.

Sorry it is not P J Proby or Del Shannon or Tommy Bruce. It is however the latest version made in 2004.

I am assuming you all know which version went to number one.

I'll disregard Richard Chamberlain as I did state UK act plus he was a one hit wonder in record terms. However your guess of Brain Poole is correct Sheena

Peter posted this on your compilation topic, he may wish to revise his opinion.

The following is BP's first solo single released in 66, he released about 5 solo singles but none did anything unlike his ex buddies The Tremeloes who went on to have a number of hits including a number 1. However I though this wasn't a bad single and demonstrates perhaps how the years change a voice in this instance.
