Essentially the lights are #53. You can get translucent paint
from any large hobby shop to color them. The film under the
clear plexi tops was a simple light diffusing style that was generally obtainable from lighting supply shops.

As for heat-
I never had trouble with either of my 331s. I would use them for
1 hour sets with no trouble at all. I just used the lights to accent
leads and intros... Maybe one song would get full lights.

Any chance of sharing the source for the plastic diffuser? I've looked all over, but can't find it...

I probably should take an evening and update my Ric Lightshow page, but for now, here it is.

Thanks to John M. for the new transformer too!

Probably! I bought a mint 331 about 5 years ago for $6300. I sold it shortly after that for.............$6300. Bwa-ha-ha-ha!! At least I didn't lose any money.

Nicely done, Kenny!

I have a wacky idea on making a substitute diffraction panel for these. Because it is only at the highly hypothetical stage right know, I won't go into details. I am hoping to do some exploratory work in this area in the coming year which should tell me whether it is even possible, or whether the "end product" winds up looking like **** (which, I guess is actually an "end product" itself ...).

Great, now I want a 331 too! Thanks a lot Jeff and Kenny. Still any chance that it will be available for order in 2006 from Rickenbacker?

Oh, never mind.

That was the correct answer, Paul.
