Indeed! Excellent job.

As a person who has inadvertently written something on the Forum that was taken badly (with subsequent apologies from both sides offered and accepted), I can vouch that it's much easier to write, than to understand from a different perspective.

We all have our own perspectives on things, including Rickenbackers, and we should acknowledge that, a priori, when we set about writing or reading something here. We should also ackowledge our own limitations when it comes to understanding others. A good example would be to post a picture of the American "O.K." gesture, and not realize that it is actually an insulting gesture in Brazil!

Let us not forget that it is love (of Rickenbackers) that has brought us together. Sorry if that's corny, but it is the truth.

Peter, in the year or so I've been associated with this Forum it's always been top notch and, besides recently, there have been occasions when you have had to deal with certain threads and rightfully so. Hats off!

Thank you Peter! I have really had to bite my tongue and not get involved a few times as I felt uncomfortable with they way some threads have gone. I felt it was best just walking away. Most times my posts are pithy. I come here to enjoy myself and I do so for the most part. The few members that I have meet are very personable people as I am sure all that post here are. Some just get caught up with their emotions and need to take a break before posting. No one wants or needs to be on the defensive. There are many other forums that seem to allow flaming. I choose not to partake.

This is the best discussion forum for a specific area that I've seen on the Internet, and I believe that Peter's ground rules and moderating are a big part. Keep up the great job, Peter. I haven't been involved as frequently as I'd like lately due to other time demands, so I missed the threads in question, but in my experience, this forum is nearly always positive, useful, informative, and inspiring. I think some of the friendships that have developed here and some of the great, detailed and informative threads are examples that demonstrate the general good will. Nice work, keep it up!

Okay, so like, I'm back, eh?...with 'tuque' in hand...humbled and (hopefully) a bit more thoughtful about my membership here. I found myself 'suspended' for a time yesterday, much to my embarrassment and chagrin...got drawn into a regrettable exchange the day before, and made the extra mistake of not letting it go. I apologize to all, and most especially to Peter, who rightly points out in the initial post of this thread that he has more than enough to do without having to babysit 'grown-ups'...

If you didn't 'experience' any of the ugliness, please don't ask what it was about, or even waste your own valuable time wondering...if Peter's a big enough guy to let me come back from it, I can certainly be big enough to let it go without making excuses...lesson learned.

One of Canada's greatest contributions to human culture is 'the penalty box'...a place where a grown man has to sit for a time, viewed by all in the arena, while he cools down and rethinks the definition of the word 'sportsmanlike' (not to mention 'adult')...thanks for makin' me do my time, Peter; I will do my best from now on to 'keep my stick on the ice'...

To me you are part of the fabric of this forum. I enjoy reading the vast majority of your posts, so I for one, am glad that you are back. Being humbled BTW is almost always a good experience, especially when viewed with the aid of passage of time.
