Thanks John-- It really took a while to decide to list it but I really like the Hofners and I have my eye on something.

Hi all. I was the winner of the aforementioned $2410 ebay mapleglo V63. Just so happened that $2410 was precisely my max bid, so I just won it by the skin of my teeth.
I felt like $2410 was on the high side, but I really wanted a MG V63, and this one was NOS, so it was in really great shape.
One of the tuning machines got bent in shipping... anyone know where I can buy them individually rather than having to get a set of 4?

Have you tried bending it back? I was able to bend a tuner back on my C64S that was bent in shipping. But it wasn't too bad to begin with.
Nice v63 by the way!

Wow Jared, yours all look remarkably unplayed! Are they NOS too?

Sometimes I wish mine was Fireglo!
Maybe when the V68's come out!

Barry... welcome aboard!
You can get a single tuner from Chris Clayton at Pick of the Rics or Mike Parks. They are around $25.
Geoffrey...I see you already have a nice bid on yours. So much for us driving up the prices. I offered mine on here for $1750 and nobody even offered back. I think the value on these is solid at 2K plus.

Put it on the 'bay after the holiday, Marc. I'm sure you'll get your $1750 and then some!

Unless in a low unit custom colour, (think Seagreen) I can't see that the V will ever be as collectible or valuable as the CS.
The irony is that the CS is hardly a rare bass either, but it seems to have acquired a certain status.
As ever, if you are fighting it out with everyone on eBay expect to pay a premium. Find one locally, and you can probably swing a deal. I still think $1500-2000 is probably the average price for the vast majority of the V series basses.

I think real-time demand drives bidding and thus the price, it seems to be up and down...FWIW the PMC I bought in November was on ebay a month previous to my purchasing it, it went for $2500 and change.

I don't think they made as many fireglo V63's as they did mapleglo. If that's true, then that alone will make the fireglo ones worth more. IMHO.

Thanks, Marc. I bought an output jack for my 360 from Mike Parks a few months back, so I'll get back to him for a new tuner. I need to get the schaller straplocks, too.
Man, I could've bought a V63 new off the shelf at guitar center for $1500 10 years ago. I could've bought a used CS on ebay for $1200 ten years ago. If only I had known...

Steve-
nope all are ebay orphans.
They have all been played-for about an hour total.
Next step, play actual music...

Welcome Barry! I put the straplocks on mine as it gets gigged.
