Yours sounds just as nice, and the red cedar should set off the abalone purfling really well, too.. Got pictures? And, not being a bassist primarily, I have to ask:

Paul,

It is a Rick Turner Renaissance bass. Here is a pic of me playing mine at our New Year's gig.

These basses have the most awesome mwah this side of Mars! Mine has a tort shell binding, the abalone is for the fancy models that I can't justify.
