And this would make me feel safe that my basses might be with him?

Well...even if i have a Thunderbird by then, I wouldn't be bringing it to a Ric confluence anyway.

so now, what will we really call this thing?

The

(M)ilwaukee
(A)rea
(R)ickenbacker
(C)onfluence?

Sean, thanks...

So I guess shipping the basses to you is out of the question... I had a better shot with Jeff even....

Brian's trustworthy. He's a cop! Oh wait. Nevermind. The cops still owe me a keg that they lifted from a party I had many years ago.

I checked out the hotel and signed the contract on the Midwest Confluence today. Great room and fine venue. One problem is that the place is a bit of a gerbil race and I was quickly turned around. The sales lady said that a couple of rooms, about the size of the one I reserved that are a little easier to get to from the main entrance, are on "hold," and if any are freed she could move us there. Even if we stay with the planned room, we'll be able to put up director signs steering folks to the room.

Off topic, but the answer to the airplane question is the military KC-135 Stratotanker. It's factory design number was 717 and it, along with the civilian airliner 707 which it closely resembles, were developed from Boeing model 377-80, dubbed the "Dash 80" which was the first of all the Boeing jetliners. I know. I'm a dweeb.

Paul, I guess you don't have any excuses for not making it to this one! Image

Good job on the venue, if BBR arrives by then, I'll do my best to make it. Or maybe I'll just borrow one of Jeff's to get in. Image

Isn't there a "Ted Williams" frozen head in a cryogenics lab somewhere?

I will be there. I'm driving up from Springfield, Illinois. I'll bring my turquoise '04 660/12, which (I'm guessing) is my most interesting Rickenbacker of my small collection, plus I'll bring my Mapleglo '00 4003, which, while not unusual by collector standards, has proven to be irreplaceable as my workhorse bass.

Looking forward to seeing you all there....
