That bass, right there, is the holy grail of every bass on this board. Only if someone got Paul McCartney's 4001 could it be topped.....or maybe Lemmy's old bass Image

Harry the first picture is of maurice w/the bass[64 RM1999] in 69, it was re-finished in 67. The other picture is of Andy Winters and the 64 RM1999 as it looks today.

being 14 during the disco revolution i sided with the who and disco sucks. i wasnt well versed enough musically to know the bee gees were so talented. at the timne i became aware they were the embodiement of disco.
as i got older and became a musician i then learned to appriciate their catalog of music. i even love the saturday night fever stuff now.

i was going to coment on the no cable or amp thing but you guys beat me to it....whats up with that? lip sync in the 60`s???

most all other sullivan stuff i see they have at least some little amps in the background as well as the old coil cables with like 6 feet of room to move...lol

What's up with the bridge in the topmost photo? It looks like some sort of metal plate is surrounding the bridge.
I saw local band do a cover of "You Should be Dancing"...it was great! The bass player also sang the falsetto lead..really gave me a new appreciation of that tune. Of course they did it somewhat tounge-in-cheek, since they are a country/blues band.

In the late '70s I was in a couple of top40/disco bands. We did all the SNF stuff and I never knew that MG played a Rickenbacker. Fortunately for me, I was playing my '76 4001 in that band! Image

OK - fine - I admit it - I love the entire Saturday Night Fever album! Even (especially?) "A Fifth of Beethoven" and "Night on Disco Mountain" (even though they're not by the Bee Gees...) Also the two versions of "If I Can't Have You."

Yeah, what's with the bridge on this 4001? It is on the cover of 'To Whom It May Concern' too.
