[i wonder what made him go with the cream color?]
I bet that's a question he's never been asked in interviews. I've had a few over the years (can't remember them specifically now), and now, with the various online chats that artists do, would the be the perfect situation.

One idea I had, it sorta matches the color of the Tele Bass he had at the time.

or it could've been white or off white, like Banks' guitar. it just yellowed with age, and playing all of those smoky clubs gave it that 'hue'. can we gte Chris on here please???

The way I understand it, he took it to some guy in Soho, and he saw all of the wall paper and stuff and said, "we must scrape all this off", or something like that, and he refined it. This may have been at the time he broke the headpiece off. the color however, I think was the luthiers idea.

yeah, i've heard the actual refin story a bunch of times, and it's on Squire's website... but, i wonder what made him settle on that color. i've also heard it refered to as 'cigarette smoke-stain white'.
