ya ... maybe I will get a 4003 with black trim and have it refinished white or silver ... I currently have an off white 2030-5 and an off white 4-2-5 p-bass with black trim ... A white refin on one would be cool. Silver & gold are finishes that you need to see in person to really appreciate. They probably look great under colored stage lighting, too.

Kevin don't feel bad about bidding and getting rid of the buy it now ... no harm done ... it is just another nice Ric bass that I want to own ... I can't buy them all ... I hope I get this one ... It may be so nice that I will just use it as wall art for a while ...

I was just saying that "if it was me". I didn't actually bid on it, I've got no spendin' money for a while.
I hope you do get it, it looks very nice & probably still has a lot of life left before the yellowing becomes noticeable.

Actually, my '77 is a good candidate for a permanent white refin someday. The years have taken their toll on the finish.
I think I'm done buying old Ricks, pretty much all the ones I want are currently in production.
