NEW HOLLIES SINGLE
Its almost funny, when I was in the business in the 60s, we always longed for the ability to multi-track (layer) at will and to edit at will.
Bob you are right in some respects, we may have sanitized music to the point that it no longer sounds real.

Yes, it's interesting how something that was once a dream now is kind of disappointing... Perhaps one day musicians get tired of all those machines and computers and return to live sound... I kind of can see it here, on the underground music scene: back in the 60s-70s it took a guy (or girl) with an acoustic guitar and lyrics were the main thing; then the technology took over for some time and the lyrics didn't mean that much, but now, there's a whole new generation of singers/songwriters who concentrate on powerful lyrics, use acoustic instruments for the most part and record live. And, believe it or not, they are known, respected and appreciated. Some older musicians who were "charmed" by modern technology for some time, now "get back to their roots", i.e. "throw away" the machines and go for more live sound, sometimes they also introduce some exotic instruments as well.
A friend of mine once said: "There's no perfection in this world, and that's fine because perfection is so boring... mistakes have some charm about them, and without them, a song might sound dead". A questionable point, though, albeit i kind of agree...

Nothing will get you dead quicker than being deadly serious about yourself.

Since this topic is about the Hollies new single, upon first listen I find it very curious why they'd abandon their traditonal vocal sound at this point in their career. I know they changed lead singers, but obviously the new guy has to sound SOMETHING like allan clark in live shows. Seems very brave and kinda stupid at the same time....

Rob,
That is great. The new version of Just One Look is cool. Tony Hicks plays guitar much better than I remember. Thanks, I really enjoyed that concert.
BTW "So Damn Beautiful" fits very well into their set list.

Yes thanks Rob. Tony Hicks never seems to age. Still two originals from their heyday unless we want to be pedantic with regard to Bobby Elliot but 43 years in the band is original enough for me. Great that The Baby was in the set, this was the great single released with Mikael Rikfors on lead vocal after Allan Clarke left in the sixties though his departure was short lived
Question was anyone able to make screen bigger or save to their PC.

Brian, your right, Tony is a superb guitar player. I saw the Hollies last October. I was on the front row, right in front of Tony and he is fantastic to watch. Also he has got a great selection of guitars. One that sounds like sitar and one that sounds like a banjo. They are on tour in the UK at the moment and well worth seeing.
Roy, cannot do either but it would have been nice to watch on a bigger screen with better sound. I think its time that the Hollies brought out a full length concert DVD.
