I don't think it will go anywhere at the price he's asking for it.

Hmm-
I'm a late commer here, but I owned this guitar in the early
90s. I bought it in 1989 from Roy Goode. It had a vibrola TP
with the long trapeze. The body and neck had folded so badly
that the bridge plate was sunk into the body.
I remember the chip on the lower horn.
The PG wasn't cracked when I had her. Sad.
I traded it in 93 for a 331.

Oh yeah-
It is a 60!
The serial # didn't exist in 58.
The first capri SN was something like 2v080(I can't remember- but it was in the 80's)

My '60 Capri is 2V089...

This one ended without a bid or BIN. Not one closeup of the bridge and no indications of any faults in the ad copy. These guys would seem to be a good example of the "fast 'n' loose" school of sales communication.

Paul-
My old one(the one in question) is 061.
The sequence started in 58 with 080(or something like it..)
However- it has been stated that there were some repeated
#s in early 1960. My point was that in 58, the capri #s weren't as low as 061 so that one(if you go by the #s)
could not be a 58.
The other thing is that this one has a Maple body; 58 would be Alder. The Maple 58s were the Butcher Block 360(5)s..

So, looks like Paul's '60 and the one that was on Ebay were 17 numbers apart.

John,

I was merely stating my number. No challenge implied to your observations or conclusions. If anything, complete agreement.

Wow--I would love to know what these oldies have seen in their lifetime.

Well, since the F model belongs to David, what it's seen is surely NOT printable, LOL...

All kidding aside, it's in many adverts and pics from back in the day...

Paul-
Yeah, I just thought that it needed some clarification on my part.
Capris are definitely not a By The Numbers thing.
That's why they're so fun Image

Hope another finds me one day......
I'd love to find the 381 James Burton played!

Chef....I have seen what I believe is Burton's 381 in the Gallery, however I don't see it now. I remember quite well that the 381 previously in the Gallery had the middle pickup removed and the holes plugged. This guitar matches the guitar held by Burton in a promo picture I have which includes James Kirkland on base. I'm almost positive that this guitar was the one used on the Nelson TV show and prompted me to buy a 60' 360.
I've had 4 wives but I still have my 60' 360!

...for the record, the '58 hollow serial numbers before 100 didn't have a leading zero.
