WOW!!! That's what I'm talkin' about! Gorgeous bass. Not everybody brings one of those to a gig. That's basically the same mentality as me for sure. I'd bring that out in a heartbeat too. And there would be even more at stake than with the CS. But you know, you only live once. Not playing a bass is absolutely the worst thing you could do to it in the long run.

Interesting that you think there is more at stake with the 4001CS than a '60s 4005WB. There were 1000 4001CSs made in the '90s but only a handful of '60s 4005WBs made.

I've played that bass. It is wonderful and won me over to the 4005 side. I never really like the '5' that much before playing Jeff's. He jokingly offered it up in trade for my 4002. It was not easy saying no to that.

No problemo! I'd love to spend some time on a 4005. I played one here locally (Fireglo '67) that the owner still has, but unfortunately he modded it by putting a Dimarzio P in the middle. Insert tears of agony here....He was trying to get $1500 for it about 6 years ago. I'm wondering if I made a mistake turning it down. Anyway, regarding the 4002s, we're not exactly tripping over them here in northeast PA!!! Not really a farfetched trade in my eyes. Another great bass.
