Ted, I think it has standard modern inlays. What might be tricking the eye is that the fretboard has black binding which blends in with the black case interior. The poor quality of the photos doesn't help, and the combination results in an optical illusion of the inlays going full lenght of what you can see. Still, $700 for a red/black trim is a good deal.

Wow Scott, that '75 is the first white fretless from that year I have ever seen.

Ilan, you see this one? 1/2 inch pup spacing, white and black plexi TRC.

I contacted the seller of the red Ric. He said it was original paint. I almost hit the BIN, but fire engine red is not my color. Ruby would have been a different story.

Speaking of Ruby,

A nice one, a little pricey though.

With those pics, how can you tell what you're getting? I would've passed.

Three gorgeous Rickenbacker basses. Those are ultimate bass guitars. No offense meant, but I wonder why some people say 'sort of disappointed with RIC'...

Do you have an opinion on the inlays Mr. Silva? You have one of the sharpest sets of eyes on the forum.

Dave: thanks for the heads-up, I saw it, sure is pretty, but I'm not much into fretless... If I were, that one could have been a perfect match for my white '73.

EDITED to add: Dave, did you notice the binding? it's white! either it's a rare Ric or it was refinished.

As bad as the pics are, I still don't see a way the inlays are to the edge. You're seeing the E & G strings as the edge. Based on the poor description and terrible pics, that bass is a gamble.

Congrats Ted, nice bass!! That's a great deal whether it has full width inlays or not.

That's the way I see it too Joey.

Hi Ted. Well, the poor quality pictures make those inlays look as though they're full width, but I'm sure they're not.

Congrats, Ted!

Either way, you've got a deal there.

Now, are you thinking of sending it off to the esteemed Mr. Curmudge for the "redneck" treatment? Image

There is no reason why the inlays should be full width. Perhaps it is just my imagination. I will find for sure very soon.
