Here's a '90 320. Those look like Schallers to me...

Can they be switched with Klusons?

Wow, it does work! Only problem is, I've got six Klusons with no Rick 320 to put 'em on. Image

My '81 came with Schallers. I replaced them with Klusons. That's a bit bass-ackward, but I wanted a vintage look.

It looks vintage.

Here it is before mods, quite a tasty guitar:

This is a couple of weeks later, after vintage mods:

However, I did not thicken it to 2".

It plays great and sounds like a monster.

To answer John's question on 330 vs. 360WB, they are awful close:

330 on left, 360WB on right.

Paul, love the 320 - but higains look so strange in there! It begs for toasters. Do you like the sound of the higains in there, or do you plan to swap 'em out?

My original plan was for toasters, but the HGs sound so darned great.

I'm hoping to lay hands on another 320. It will end up turquoise and get the HGs and this one will eventually get toasters.

The debate here was looks vs. sound, and sound won out, at least in the pickup dept...

Paul, not to be mean, but I liked the guitar they way it was before...

Like others have said, the "Capri" look just doesn't look right without toasters!

No wonder they call you "Grinch", Nick! LOL

Sometimes I feel the same way. I look at the old pictures and wish I had both. Someday I will.

Briefly, in 1981-82, you would see 320s with Grover tuners. Not Rotomatics but another type on which the body resembled the wavy Grover bass tuner body.

Actually, I've heard of people putting chrome toaster covers over their hi-gains. It works, and it looks great! Then, you'd get to keep the sound that you love.

Yup. All I've gotta do is pull the domed slugs and substitute some flatties for 'em, then find some nice toaster covers, then put the two together...right?

I'll put it on my "to do" list. Any of you kibitzers got some toaster covers?

No, but this guy does:

$20 each. Not bad, considering the pickups themselves are five times that amount.
