Chris - here's a pick of the new frets. Also, a finish different than the original lacquer has been applied.

Chris, yes the fret board is very much wider on the 660. I think once mine's set up it'll be fine. As I stated elsewhere, it's about two-twenty-five cent coins at the 12th fret. I haven't had the time to take my 660/12 in for a re-set. I played a 12 string Vox at GC a couple days ago and it was great, same for a elderly Fender XII. So I'm hoping I can play mine when it's set up. I don't have big finger issues with my 6 strings or, of course, my basses.

Is this a cousin of the 660? What model is it and how does the neck compare in width?

That is a 610/12, Chris. The 610, now discontinued, was the un-deluxe version of the 620; i.e., unbound body and neck, only "dot" inlays, no rick-o-sound jack, etc. It's not a wide fretboard model like the 660/12 would be.

My 360/12/V64 is now back. The new frets and wider spaced strings at the nut make this thing MUCH easier to play. Amazing!
With the new 12-string saddle, the acoustic sound of the guitar is much more lively and sustaining.
Amplified playing will have to wait until the weekend.....

Thank you, Sir Andrew!! I am now on the hunt for a 660-12!! I hate that I can't play the 360-12 effectively but.....so goes it...I also understand that there are two different size 660's?? RIC supposedly had cut back the size of the neck after a certain date?? I thought I'd read that in a previous post....

Chris,
I remember that post about the 660 necks. I think the depth/fatness of the 660 necks was reduced to be the same as the standard 600 series guitars. The width of the 660 necks was unchanged.

Peter....glad to hear the widening worked out. I don't have the guts to change mine though. I will sell mine as original and pick up a new 660-12....the wheels are in motion.....

Got my 660-12JG today! WOW, what a difference a wider neck makes! I wish I would've found this model earlier....Jetglo w/gold pickguard and trc and wider neck......ahhhhh....I think I'll curl up in the fetal position and suck my thumb a while....

Thanks Jeff! If only RIC would make the 360-12 with the 660-12 neck!! But you know.....the 660 body style really GROWS on you...I am going to play the opening chord to AHDN 50,000 times now....

Sounds like you found your guitar, Chris! Congratulations!
I'm sitting here strumming my 360/V64. Just amazing what a difference the mods have made! Better sound, better playability. Rics Rock!
