'65 4001 - Oh, that neck!

I have 15 basses and I am building number 16 now ... 7 are rics ... and I have owned and sold another 15 or 20 in recent years ... I have some favorites but no one bass stands out in a class by itself ... they all have strengths and weaknesses ... quite often to get a strength in a bass you create a weakness ...

for gigging my 4003 4-2-5 is a good workhorse ...

my 4004L 4-2-5 is a good gigging bass is good as well ...

and this one is always fun to take out ...

I think Jared and I will have a duel to the death should a quilted MG Cii pop up on eBay. I'll never forget the one that was on eBay two and a half years ago. It went for $1600, but my top was $1200. I'd gladly pay $1600 for it now.

Damn!

Since I'm so into 5 string basses, I'd probably have to pick my trans red 4004Cii5. I would not be happy about giving up any of my Ricks. I might consider leaving the country first.

Either my '71 4001 21 fret or my '67 4005 but I honestly don't know which as I love both of them.

Oh boy! I like the easy questions.

My first production year, low numbered
07/03 4001C64S MG
It's all about the neck and the tone for me.

Hmmm....tough, tough question!

I guess it's a toss-up between my '67 4005WB or my '99 V63....

Coin toss says the 4005...

OK, so here's the good news, bad news....

Bad news first. I've been elected head of the bass guitar gov't so I'm soming around to collect the "excess"(Just as Brian predicted).

Good news is, I'm willing to stay on the forum and post pics of the family memebers you were forced to let go.....
