Bruno, that has got to be a V63. If you ever sell it I would have no issues about calling it a V63.
Now, as for that pick guard......

Bruno has replaced the original pickguard with a pickguardian item... he still has the V63 pickguard of course
guys, notice how huge are the horns of the V63 he owns

She just arrived. It is a 1988 and the horn is much larger when compared to my CS.
I can't get the picture to post. This makes me NUTS. First, i'm told it has to be under 35K. I resize and then I'm told it has to under 500 x 500. Can someone please tell me how the heck I can get some decent pictures posted?
Thanks!

Very nice V63's guys. Congrats, Tony!
Bruno-
Yours is a V63. It has all the hardware of a V63, a square heal, walnut wings, and doesn't have the extra dot on the fretboard that a 4003S would have. Somehow, the master was mistaken!
And from what I understand, the early V63's had fat horns. Tony's does too.

Nice Tony! Is your wife happy now that you have the V63?

Thanks guys,
Jeff:
Well, I wouldn't say she is "happy", "per se"
She knows I've been looking for one for a LONG time, so she is happy that I'm not looking anymore..
The Alembic 5 string is gone, now, THAT did make her HAPPY!
The 4001 is on the way out, that is making her "sort of happy".
I THINK I'm going to have to sell the 1993 4003MG, that is making me sad but that will complete her "happiness". The CC will be good as new again and THAT brings her happiness!
All kidding aside, she is cool about it. I just don't think I should be asking for anything else in the near future.....hmmm, that 4004CI is still there...............nope..................I better not..........

As you can see, it's not only a matter of fatter horns: the neck joints on my V63 and on Tony's one have the same shape of a 4003S (see the frets and the distance between the pickguard and the body edge).
All the V63 I saw had the body shape just like the Francesco's one, and that's why it sounds to me that wrong body wings got glued on my V63 and Tony's V63 necks...

Bruno, they are all V63's. I don't know if you saw my one that wasn't a V63, but a pre production or prototype.
It was pretty much an S or B with all the vintage goodies put on, this included very early magnetic 'shoes.
It seems that, like most RICs, they have evolved. The fact that you have a square heel and walnut wings, horseshoe and split tail means it just has to be a V63.
You also have 'proof' that it is a V63 with the documentation.
Enjoy it!

Bob, I DO enjoy my bass! I would never sell it because I love its sound, its neck and everything... to not mention the fact that I have some very special personal reasons to love it.
I was just curious, you know?
